The Scooby Sprint Championship regulations have been designed to allow the entry of different levels of Subaru, from base standard cars, to full-blown fire breathing monsters.
Scooby Sprint Championship is strictly open to Subaru vehicles only.
The eligibility and class regulations have been kept purposefully simple, but operate on a "Spirit of the regulations" basis, and the decision of Scooby Sprint as to the classification of a competing car is final. This is purely to avoid lengthy and impractical restrictions placed on competitors, while still avoiding unfair tactics.
Scooby Sprint Championship, is above all, FUN. Let's keep it that way!
Scooby Sprint operates three classes.
Important - The decision of Scooby Sprint as to the classification of any competing car is final. Competitors must enter into the clear spirit of these regulations. This is to avoid impractical limitations on competitors (like turbo restrictors), raising their costs, and dramatically increasing complications for all concerned. If it is recognised that an obvious and dramatic performance advantage has been included which is outside of the considered spirit of the regulations, Scooby Sprint may bump a car up to a different class.
Pragmatic Common Sense - In oposite cases, where a car only JUST falls outside qualification for a class (such as with a partially stripped interior) but qualifies in all other ways, we may allow this car to carry ballast in order to account for the weight reduction. If you feel your car is not suitable for any class, contact us and we will be happy to look at all cases individually.
STANDARD
The Standard class is restricted to cars which :
a) Are running on standard, normal, road tyres. (No track / road tyres such as 888's)
b) Standard Suspension (although spring changes are allowed)
c) Standard Brakes (although pad and disk changes are allowed)
d) Full interior (no stripped doors, missing seats, carpets, etc).
e) No other major modifications (Common sense prevails)
MODIFIED
The Modified class is restricted to cars which :
a) Are running road legal tyres (Track tyres such as 888's are allowed, as long as they are road legal and within the spirit of this regulation - but no slicks or full competition tyres)
b) Full interior (no stripped doors, missing seats, carpets, etc) **
c) No anti-lag
** In some cases, we may allow you to run ballast weight if you have a partially stripped interior and your car qualifies for the Modified class in all other respects.
OVERALL / PRO
Within noise and other applicable event entry regulations, no other restrictions apply. Slick tyres, stripped interior, anti-lag, launch control, non-Subaru engines - all allowed.
Only those already registered for the Scooby Sport Championship (registration is online at www.scoobysprint.com only) can score Championship points, and will appear on the event leader boards and results.
POINTS SYSTEM
Scooby Sprint Championship events carry the following points :
| Position | Points |
| 1st | 10 |
| 2nd | 7 |
| 3rd | 5 |
| 4th | 4 |
| 5th | 3 |
| 6th | 2 |
| 7th | 1 |
Points are allocated per event, to competitors entered into each of the various classes and championship eligibilities as follows :
DRIVERS' CHAMPIONSHIP
Driver's Championship points are awarded as above, for each event, to the top Seven placed competitors.
There is also a Drivers' Championship for the Modified and Standard class.
CONSTRUCTORS' CHAMPIONSHIP
Constructors must nominate their primary competing car, prior to each event.
They can also nominate (through agreement with the individual competitors) five additional competing cars operated by privateers.
Constructor's Championship points are awarded to the Constructor team, for their primary car, and the top placed of their additional nominated cars, should any of them finish in the points.
There is also a Constructors' Championship for the Modified and Standard class, but constructors are nether required to nor restricted from nominating each of their primary and/or additional cars in any of the available classes - providing it is eligible.
CLUBS' CHAMPIONSHIP
It is free of charge to register your club for the Scooby Sprint Championship. Your club can only score points if at least 6 championship registered competitors are registered as supporting your club.
There is also a Clubs' Championship for the Modified and Standard class.
PRIVATEERS' CHAMPIONSHIP
Privateers' Championship points are awarded on the basis of recalculating the results as though no Constructor registered Primary Cars were competing. In other words, the first placed car that is not nominated as the Primary car for a Constructor team, will receive 10 Privateers' Championship points.
There is also a Privateers' Championship for the Modified and Standard class.
EVENT SHOWDOWN POINTS
The top 5 overall placed competitors, after all timed runs have closed, are entered automatically into the immediate Event Showdown. Each competitor has one more, timed run. The fastest in this timed run Scores another 3 Drivers' Championship points, and second place scores an addition 1 Drivers' Championship point.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure stability and consistency, in extreme cases of if deemed necessary by Scooby Sprint for important sporting, legal or safety reasons, the regulations may be amended at any time without prior notice.
